Art4children encourages children to express themselves freely, notwithstanding existing talents (or lack of them!). Resources are kept to a minimum, to minimise both tidying up and expense, so classes tend to concentrate on pencil and crayon and collage work. Wherever possible, the aim is to build up in school a display of all the children’s work during the term.

Our activities follow the guidelines of the Art elements ofThe National Curriculum for Art & Design.

Children will learn to:

• record from experience and imagination
• select and record from first–hand observation
• collect visual and other information [for example, images, materials]to help them develop their ideas
• explore a range of starting points for practical work [for example, themselves, their experiences, images, stories, drama, music, natural and made objects and environments]
